The route — refugee camp to three continents

Portrait of Angkea Som

I left Cambodia with nothing. No plan. No language. No safety net. Just my parents and a refugee camp between us and whatever came next.

Today I'm Co-Founder of KOPI, an AI-native growth agency helping enterprise brands across APAC and ANZ get found in the places their buyers are increasingly going first. Not Google. ChatGPT. Perplexity. Gemini. Claude. When your buyer types a question into one of these and your brand doesn't appear, you've already lost the consideration. That's the problem I solve.

We call it AI Visibility — the practice of measuring and improving how enterprise brands are cited, recommended, and surfaced by AI engines. The career behind this spans decades: Seattle to Singapore to Tokyo, AvenueA/Razorfish, Wunderman, VML, and Dynata across 14 countries, six years building TheEngage from zero to profitable without a single investor, and Royal Caribbean as an anchor client for six years with the account grown tenfold.

"You don't wait to be found. You show up."

That's the through line across all of it — the same thing I learned in that refugee camp. If you're thinking about AI Visibility audits, APAC growth strategy, or enterprise partnerships anywhere across Singapore, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, or New Zealand — I'd like to hear from you.

The Framework

Measuring citability, not just rankings

Audits run across 11 AI model families — including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity — to see how, and whether, a brand gets cited, recommended, and surfaced.

51%
of B2B software buyers now start research in an AI chatbot more than Google — up from 36% just seven months earlier
71%
rely on AI chatbots at some point in their research process
69%
of buyers ended up choosing a different vendor than the one they originally expected
33%
purchased from a brand they'd never even heard of — because an AI chatbot recommended it

Source: G2, "The Answer Economy: How AI Search Is Rewiring B2B Software Buying" and the G2 2026 AI Search Insight Report (survey of 1,076 B2B software buyers, March 2026).

The buyer journey hasn't shifted gradually — it's forked. A third of buyers are now landing on vendors they'd never heard of, purely because an AI chatbot named them. That cuts both ways: it's already costing brands deals they don't know they're losing, and it's already handing new business to brands most buyers couldn't have named a year ago. The category leaders in most industries haven't claimed their position in AI answers yet — which means the early-mover advantage is still open, but it closes as more competitors start measuring and acting on this.

38%
The average brand's score on the AI Visibility framework. Most brands don't know they have a gap until it's measured.

Every engagement starts with a complimentary Snapshot — a point-in-time visibility read with headline results and one or two priority gaps flagged. From there, three tiers:

01 / Discover

The full audit

A full one-time AI Visibility audit — benchmarking across all major LLMs, persona/topic/citation analysis, and a prioritised GEO roadmap delivered in a working session.

02 / Accelerate

Ongoing, monthly

One full report a month plus a mid-month pull — sentiment, content, and citation analysis, competitor analysis across up to 5 brands, content production, and a monthly strategy review.

03 / Dominate

Full coverage

Everything in Accelerate, plus weekly monitoring, competitor benchmarking across up to 10 brands, higher-volume content production, and a dedicated consultant.

Terminology

Win of Visible (WoV)

Being visible in an AI answer and being the answer are two different outcomes. Most AI visibility tools still measure only the first one. WoV measures the second.

Win of Visible = Wins as #1 recommendation ÷ Total conversations where the brand is visible

WoV is the share of AI conversations in which a brand appears that it also wins as the top recommendation — a conversion rate, not a presence rate. A brand can be named in 80% of relevant AI conversations and still lose the business every time, if it's never the pick once it shows up. It sits alongside two numbers most teams already track — visibility (how often a brand appears at all) and overall win rate (how often it's the top pick across every conversation, including the ones where it never appeared) — and isolates the moment that matters most commercially: once a model already knows a brand exists, does it also choose to recommend it.

What I Do

Two companies, one thesis

AI is replacing the search bar as the first place buyers look. Both practices exist to make sure enterprise brands show up when it does.

AI Concierge Builds

Buyers don't wait for business hours

Most of the buying journey now happens before anyone talks to a person — researched at 11pm, on a phone, on a site that can only answer questions it anticipated. A static FAQ page can't handle "can a doctor come tonight" or "can I hire in Vietnam without an entity." A concierge can. If a site can't answer in the moment, a competitor's does. Every build runs on Claude (Anthropic), deployed directly on the client's own site.
